4 Keys to Fighting Oily Skin

Keys to Fighting Oily Skin

Oily skin is very common. Your skin may naturally be oily, or become oily from make-up, dirt or even stress. The last thing you want is to make the condition worse. We’re going to go over what to do in treating oily skin. Pay close attention to these four must-dos to help improve your skin.

#1 Properly Clean Your Skin

Properly cleaning your skin is very important. But the cleanser you use is even more important. Use a cleanser that is gentle on your skin, and that doesn’t contain alcohol. Harsh formulas strip too much oil from your skin, resulting in dry skin because it will be left without any fatty acids. Thus, your body will overcompensate by creating more oil.

Find the right cleanser and use as recommended. Typically, you may need to use the cleanser at least twice a day: morning and night. This usage will balance the oil levels produced by your body.

#2 Select Your Make-up Wisely

Like choosing the right dress for that fabulous party you’re going to attend, choosing the right make-up to use on your face is also important. One particular make-up item brings the most problems: foundation. Foundation covers your skin; especially thick foundation. They block and trap bacteria inside your pores. Result: excess oil produced within your skin. Your skin then becomes the breeding ground for acne.

So when choosing a foundation, find a light powder, which will allow your skin to breath throughout the day. And be sure to wash-off your make-up before going to bed.

#3 Hydration

When you’re dehydrated, your stress glands produce more oil. To properly hydrate your skin, drink more water daily, or use products that are made to help hydrate your skin. A product that includes hyaluronic acid will help. These products get rid of the bacteria on your face, thus, helping eliminate acne.

#4 Natural Oils

Using natural oils on your face will actually help reduce your skin’s oil levels. So don’t worry. They won’t make your skin oilier. For instance, argan oil is great for reducing sebum levels in oily skin, helping fight acne. Our Bioactive HydraSerum helps fight oily skin with a high mix of natural oils combined together. The natural oils are packed with vitamins, amino acids and antioxidants, which help hydrate, heal and protect your skin.
